Johnny Rios was an officer in the NYPD for 7 years, and was recently given an assignment for Yankee Stadium. He allegedly took his own life in his home on August 13th, 2019, at the age of 35.

Kevin Preiss, his NYPD partner in the 50th precinct, took his own life on June 26th, 2019. He was 53 years oid at his time of death. He, like Johnny, died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
Suicide Number 8
Around 3:30 in the morning, a neighbor called police when she heard a woman yelling, and then a shot being fired. The suicide occurred in his home in Yonkers, New York (map).
Johnny was dead on the scene when police arrived. His girlfriend, who he was going to marry soon, was there to witness it all. They also have two young children.
He is the 8th suicide among the NYPD this year. His friend, Kevin Preiss, was the 4th NYPD suicide.
